In May 2025, adidas returns with its powerful Move For The Planet initiative, mobilising everyday athletes around the world to turn their movement into climate action. Through this unique program, adidas will donate €1 for every 10 minutes of logged activity on the adidas running app or Strava. This will be up to €1.5 million, funding global projects that improve local sports infrastructure and deliver education on sustainability where it's needed most.
This third year of Move For The Planet strengthens the brand's ongoing commitment to community-based climate action and climate-resilient sport.

Turning movement into impact
From May 12-25, participants can choose from over 100 trackable sports, from running and swimming to wheelchair rugby on adidas Running, or for the first time now on Strava. For every 10 minutes of movement, adidas will contribute €1 toward community projects around the world. Since the initiative launched in 2023, over 400 million minutes of activity have already been logged, demonstrating the program's global momentum.
This year, the €1.5 million cap will support grassroots initiatives across continents, from climate-proofing pitches in South Africa to building waste management systems in India.
Powering change with Partners
To ensure that the funds raised drive real-world impact, adidas is continuing its collaboration with Common Goal and UN Climate Change. Together, they're delivering solutions at the intersection of sport and sustainability, like water purification systems and accessible educational platforms that empower communities to take climate action.
Some of the projects that will benefit from this year's edition include Girls United in Mexico, El Rio in Colombia, Red Deporte in Spain, and United Through Sport in South Africa.
Spotlight Stories in the "Why I Move" series
To inspire participation, adidas is spotlighting athletes who understand the value of foundational sporting spaces. The supporting film series "Why I Move" features global champions like downhill mountain biker Valentina Höll, sprinter Ferdinand Omanyala, fitness coach Massy Arias, and FIFA World Cup winner Alexis Mac Allister.
Each of their stories offers a personal glimpse into how access to sports facilities shapes both careers and communities, highlighting why preserving these spaces matters more than ever in a changing climate.
